Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot

Reiss --

So I finally got around to watching that show you've been telling me about for some years now. I speak, of course, about Lipstick Jungle. I just finished watching the pilot, only 489 days after it first aired on NBC.The moment the show began i was immediately drawn towards Wendy. The grace in which she balances her personal life career and femininity shines right through the screen into the eye of the modern woman. Her husband Shane gives her the support that I one day want to provide for my significant other. The brilliants minds that brought us Sex and the City have done it again Bushnell gives her the charisma of Carrie combined with the voluptuous look of Charlotte to create a character which will enrapture the hearts of the single women of America.

Abie --

I'm glad to have you on board. This promises to be an exciting and enlightening experience for both of us. I am actually delighted to hear how little exposure you have had to Lipstick Jungle, as hearing your unbiased, initial reactions to a show that I know backwards and forwards by now will make for a very interesting perspective in my opinion.

Im delighted that you quickly picked up on the nuances of Wendy's character. It was not until my 3rd viewing that I notcied the similarities between her and Sex' Carrie. Strong women have always done it for me, although I might actually prefer the sweet cute looks of Nico. I also admire the way she breaks the sterotype of the class NYC woman by putting her career before her family. As the series continues, you will be fascinated byt he lengths these 3 women go to in order to survive in the wilderness of the the fashion world.
